Maximilian S. Schaefer, Director of the Division of Thoracic Anesthesia and Center for Anesthesia Research Excellence (CARE) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He has published numerous papers on postoperative recovery and perioperative lung-protective ventilation, including the elucidation of novel concepts such as mechanical power in the operating room.

Discusses conflicting evidence from trials investigating intraoperative mechanical ventilation, why individualization is important, how it can be done to help improve patient outcome.

Dr. Victor Davila holds the position of Associate Professor in Anesthesiology at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Renowned for his engagement as a speaker at both national and international forums, Dr. Davila brings a wealth of expertise to his field. His educational journey includes a residency at the University of Toledo, a fellowship in Critical Care at the University of Michigan, and further specialization with a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at Ohio State University. Dr. Davila is at the forefront of developing quality metrics and advancing quality improvement education.
